About AlphaCoder

AlphaCoder.net is a free text encoding and cipher toolkit -- built for students, teachers, puzzle fans, escape-room designers, geocachers, and developers who want fast conversion tools that keep their input on their own device.

Our Mission

We built AlphaCoder to be the single destination where students, teachers, puzzle enthusiasts, escape room designers, geocachers, and developers can find every text-to-number and cipher conversion tool they need -- with no account required and no software to install.

Every conversion happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The text you type into a converter is never transmitted to a server and never sent to our analytics -- it stays on your device. The site itself is ad-supported (Google AdSense) and uses aggregate analytics to understand which tools are useful; neither ever receives your conversion content. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why AlphaCoder?

Your Input Stays Local

Every conversion runs in your browser -- the text you enter is never sent to a server or to analytics. No account needed. The site is ad-supported and uses aggregate analytics, which never see your conversion content.

Instant Speed

Real-time conversion as you type. No page reloads, no loading spinners. Results appear in milliseconds thanks to optimized client-side algorithms.

Complete Coverage

18 specialized tools covering everything from ancient ciphers to modern encoding systems. Educational articles, printable worksheets, and interactive charts.

Our Team

AlphaCoder is built and maintained by a small group of software developers and educators who work with ciphers and text encoding.

Our explanations draw on well-established references such as David Kahn's The Codebreakers and Simon Singh's The Code Book, and our converters follow published standards -- the Unicode code charts, standard ASCII, Morse code (ITU-R M.1677), and the plain A1Z26 (A=1 … Z=26) mapping -- so their output matches what you would get by hand or from the primary source.

We are committed to making high-quality cryptography education accessible to everyone -- from elementary school students learning about secret codes to university students studying information theory.
